Academic Program

Comprehensive Special Education Services at Strides Academy

Students are provided with a full academic curriculum to include ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  Each student’s IEP (Individualized Education Plan) is followed to include all related services such as Speech, PT, OT, and Counseling. 

Strides Academy provides additional educational opportunities such as PE, Art, and Social Skills Groups weekly. 

We are fully staffed to include highly qualified special education teachers, a full-time nurse and a full-time social worker. We also employ a full-time BCBA, and full-time BCaBA for behavioral support, as well as several Behavior Technicians to support behavior. We have a cohesive group that works together as a team to meet the needs of our diverse population of students. 

Multimodal Instruction and Progress Monitoring

Strides Academy offers a multimodal framework for providing instruction. Our team utilizes the VIZZLE curriculum, an online program that allows for learning and progress monitoring, as well as hands on activities and direct instruction. Progress monitoring is ongoing, both educationally and behaviorally. 

Students are provided FBA evaluations as needed during a diagnostic period at the Academy. The team implements a behavioral system with individual plans for each student. We model our point system, our mantra, through our core values about being safe, responsible, successful, and always striving to do our best work. We have a very therapeutic environment that allows the students to feel both comfortable and safe. Our points and levels allow for each student to meet with success twice daily.
